Join our team at L&Q: We have recently established a new Business Design and Architecture team at L&Q, which forms a core part of our Group Transformation and Change team. This new function provides critical support and expertise to our multi-year, multi-million pound investment in transforming L&Q. Our transformation and change portfolio spans full operating model change across the Group. It's service design led, and will deliver transformation to ways of working, process, team structures, systems, data and reporting, enabling organisational performance, efficiency and agility, and setting L&Q up well for the future.
A key part of our new Business Design and Architecture team is a dedicated Business Architecture practice. This team will provide full architectural capability across all disciplines, supported by discipline experts in these spaces; process, people, technology, data and information. The team will focus on ensuring that our as-is business architecture is understood and used as a robust baseline for change, and that our future architecture is codified to enable our organisation to be agile and efficient when change is required in future; in effect, helping to systemise change and deliver operational excellence in all that we do as an organisation.
We are looking for a Senior Business Architect to join our new Head of Business Design and Architecture, and to begin the work to develop the new practice, which will ultimately be at least 7 architects strong, supported by a range of professional service partners to augment our internal team when needed, adding capacity and expertise across our work. This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for someone that relishes working in the business architecture space but who also loves the prospect of forming and building high performing teams from scratch. The role holder will work to create a strong, high performing practice, developing common approaches, methods and ways of working. If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!
Your impact in the role:
- People Management and Leadership: Leading a cohort of Business Architects, and supporting them to be the best they can be. Building the team, managing performance, overseeing delivery, and developing the team to grow their experience, develop their skills and careers.
- Business Architecture Practice: Working with the Head of Business Design and Architecture and other leaders, developing a strong, high performing practice, creating consistent ways of working, methodologies and delivery approaches. Developing and then leading the application and continuous improvement of business architecture tools, including service patterns and business journey blueprints. Working with delivery teams to ensure these tools are fully adopted to ensure we are delivering to target outcomes and future proofing change at L&Q.
- Designing and Assuring Transformation and Change deliverables: Providing the architectural input to design and assurance outputs and assurance, ensuring solutions enable delivery of target outcomes and deliverables. Working with Business Analysts, Service Designers, Programme and Project Managers, Technology and Data experts, to design and assure aspects of our Transformation and Change portfolio.
What you'll bring:
- Senior level, broad experience of Business Architecture practice development and deployment.
- Includes development, application and continuous improvement of business architecture tools and tooling in a large, complex operating model setting.
- People Leadership, Management and Team development experience. Ideally experience in creating teams from scratch.
- Experience and knowledge in clienting professional services partners to deliver successful outcomes.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, able to make the complex simple.
- Ideally but not essential, experience of working in a highly regulated sector such as housing.
If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage during this process, including application stage, please email.
