Join our Major Works Delivery Team at L&Q:
The Major Works Delivery team are looking for an experienced Technical Inspector with vast technical knowledge with experience in working on large scale, planned works to include but not limited to Kitchen/Bathrooms renewal, External works, Retrofit M&E and Complex projects. The role reports to the Partnership Manager. We are looking for someone to join our team to bolster their current wealth of experience and knowledge.
Your impact in the role:
- The Technical Inspector will be responsible for the inspection and quality of designated planned programmes including Kitchen and Bathroom renewal, windows and door programmes, roofing and retrofit works.
- Collaborating with our partnered contractors to provide excellent customer service whilst ensuring high-quality products and quality are delivered.
- Ensuring that the L&Q property assets are maintained in line with the allocated programmes.
- All projects are to be developed into an efficient de-risked solution to which our partners/contractors can deliver.
- Covering refurbishment, planned investment, mechanical and electrical works, and fire safety remediation.
- The role includes being a point of contact for residents, partners, and stakeholders.
What you'll bring:
- Successful candidate must have Excellent technical knowledge and site experience.
- Understanding of contracts and compliance, the specification, knowledge of pricing structures such as NHF schedule of rates.
- Skills to be able to monitor work progress against the specification, undertake snagging visits, identify defects, final handover inspection to ensure high quality completion.
- Skills to be able to keep detailed records, create reports for management, be able to take and record site measurements.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, legislation and CDM Regulations to ensure these are adhered to throughout the programme.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Contract management experience, including risk management skills.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint & Excel, able to compare spreadsheets, use basic pivot tables and formulae.
- The determination and enthusiasm to be able to collaborate, work as a team, be able to positively contribute when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders, support others when needed and a flexible approach.
- A construction qualification, membership of ICWCI and or relevant large, planned work experience.
- A full UK driving licence and a vehicle.
