Contract Type: 2.5 Year Fixed Term Contract, 40 hours per week

Salary: £26,508 per annum

Reporting Office: Thomas Street Depot, Stretford, Manchester

Working Location: Manchester

Contractual hours to be worked from various locations such as resident home, estates etc, with ad hoc office attendance as required.

Overview: The L&Q Apprenticeship Programme has been designed to help you get the career you have always wanted. This role provides the opportunity to start a new career path with a valued-led organisation that will support you to learn and develop throughout the programme and beyond.

As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will receive training to enable you to support the team in providing a first-class service to our customers and will be expected to assist in carrying out carpentry repairs and installations. The successful candidates will be working under instruction and supervision but also taking responsibility individually when appropriate, for their own work (and within their assessed abilities and skill set). This will include carrying out day to day repairs, working with wood-based materials and associated products to learn to create and install building components assisting with installations and repairs.

Apprenticeship details: Level 2, Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship role offers a 2.5-year fixed term contract during which time you will undertake a Level 2, Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your apprenticeship, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.

  • GCSEs in English and Maths, Grade C / Grade 4 or above preferred but not essential.

Other essential information: Must be able to work in the UK. To qualify for apprenticeship funding, the individual must have a valid and eligible residency status. This usually requires residency in the UK for at least 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship. Please note if you have already completed or partially completed Level 2 or 3 Qualification in Carpentry, Site Carpentry or Joinery your application cannot be considered as you will not qualify for Apprenticeship funding. If you are unsure if you would be eligible for funding, please feel free to contact us before applying. A full UK Driving Licence is not a requirement for application of this apprenticeship programme, however following completion, a full UK Driving Licence will be required to be considered for progression to a Trainee position. Successful candidates will be given a start date in August.
