Title: Lettings Officer

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract to 31st October 2027

Salary: Β£34,381 to Β£37,570 per annum (London Weighted) depending on experience

Grade: 6

Reporting Office: Stratford, London, E15

Working Location: South East and Keny region.

Persona: Agile Worker - 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Interview Dates: W/C 21st September, interviews to be held via MS Teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where your decisions directly influence void performance, rental income and resident satisfaction.

About the Role

As a Lettings Officer, you will play a key role in maximising revenue on our properties while minimising void periods, ensuring homes are let efficiently and in line with L&Q's allocations policy and regulatory requirements.

You will manage your own caseload, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure operational and financial targets are met, while maintaining exceptional standards of customer service.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Managing a diverse caseload to ensure properties are let quickly, compliantly and in line with policy
  • Reducing void turnaround times and maximising rental income
  • Delivering excellent customer service and contributing to resident satisfaction targets and KPIs
  • Supporting with transfers and providing moving options advice to residents
  • Building strong relationships with residents, local authorities and internal teams
  • Maintaining accurate records, managing performance data and ensuring system compliance
  • Identifying and managing risks within your remit
  • Working collaboratively across teams to deliver strong financial and operational outcomes

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who thrives in a busy, public-facing role and is confident managing competing priorities with professionalism and accuracy.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven lettings experience within a housing environment
  • Strong understanding of allocations processes and their impact on performance
  • Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work quickly, proactively and make sound decisions
  • Confident using MS Office and housing management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of housing or immigration legislation
  • Understanding of welfare reform and housing-related benefits
  • Experience managing complaints in a customer-focused environment
