Join our Compliance & Investment Team at L&Q: Help shape how we fund thousands of affordable homes. We are looking for an Investment Manager (Grant Funding) to lead our engagement with the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Homes England (HE), secure and manage grant, and make sure L&Q remains compliant and competitive across current and future funding programmes. This role is central to how we deliver our growth plans: you will identify funding opportunities, lead compliant bids, and ensure robust controls around grant income and reporting. You will report to the Head of Compliance & Investment and work closely with New Homes, Sales, Finance and senior leaders across the business.
Your impact in the role:
- Act as L&Q's day-to-day liaison with the GLA/HE, monitor policy and programme changes, and lead compliant bid submissions that align with L&Q's objectives.
- Ensure timely, compliant drawdowns, recycled grant compliance and accurate forecasting/reporting of grant across programmes.
- Provide the central expert function on funders' investment management systems and build capacity across New Homes (briefings, clinics, training).
- Embed controls to meet statutory, regulatory and audit requirements; support internal assurance and respond to funder/regulator queries.
- Build strong relationships with funders, partners and internal senior stakeholders to unlock delivery and resolve issues quickly.
- Provide clear risk, opportunity and sensitivity inputs on grant, including impacts of policy changes and new funding vehicles on the business plan.
Key relationships: Development Finance, New Business/Delivery teams, Sales & Marketing, and external funders/regulators.
What you will bring:
Essential:
- Strong project management capability, delivering complex programmes in challenging environments.
- Good understanding of financial principles and forecasting (grant profiles, recycled grant, cashflow/timing impacts).
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills (internal exec and external funders/LAs).
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication (briefings, board papers, funder correspondence).
- Ability to self-manage workload, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience in a GLA/HE liaison or policy-facing role.
Desirable:
- Proven experience of social housing grant funding management (GLA/HE or similar) including bidding, compliance and drawdown.
- Degree (2:1) or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.
If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage during this process, including application stage, please email.
