About the role
Join our Electrical Team at L&Q. We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join our in-house Maintenance team covering our Thames neighbourhood including Greenwich, Bexley, Bromley and surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference to our residents’ lives and deliver a customer‑centred service. You will ensure that work is carried out with residents’ satisfaction in mind and demonstrate our values consistently.
The role is front-line, delivering service with direct impact on L&Q’s reputation. Focus is on high-quality work and first-time-fix delivery. You will work towards meeting targets (financial and customer-related), to timeframes, and ensure jobs are completed on time and within cost. The team must have knowledge and contribute to ensuring that the Direct Maintenance team’s KPIs are met. We are seeking individuals with good working knowledge in building and/or housing environments, particularly within social housing or local authority experience in domestic and/or commercial electrical roles. You will have knowledge, understanding and experience of Inspection & testing of electrical installations and fault finding. A customer service focus and understanding of Health and Safety are essential with resident safety in mind.
Qualifications and technical requirements
- Core Technical Competence, All electrical Works (EAS- Table 4C)
- NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship, or Equivalent* (EAS- Route 1)
- Older Technical or Craft Qualifications* (EAS- Route 2)
- Experienced Worker Qualification (Maintenance/Installation Electrician* / ECS Gold Card or equivalent (Maintenance/Installation Electrician)) (*Must have AM2 where necessary as per EAS Qualifications Guide)
- Wiring Regulations (Table 4D)
- Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671:2018)
- Desirable: Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of in-service Electrical Installations (QCF) or equivalent.
What you’ll bring
- Maintenance experience preferably gained within Social Housing or a similar environment;
- Excellent customer service with proven track record;
- Good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety;
- Ability to work under time constraints;
- Experience with completing electrical certification, including periodic inspections & testing;
- Full driving licence;
- Candidates are required to have own hand tools (larger tools and specialist equipment will be arranged if needed).
