As a Bus Driver, you will get to know the familiar faces on your routes, build relationships and even be the highlight of someone’s day. Did you know that Bus Drivers are one of the most thanked jobs in the UK?

  • During Training (the first 4-6 weeks) – £12.21 per hour

After Training:

  • Monday to Saturday – £14.30
  • Sunday £15.33 per hour

Pay rates reviewed via frequent pay negotiations.

What’s in it for you?

Full paid training where you\’ll receive your PCV licence – you\’ll go through our Arriva Training School and learn everything you need to know about being a Bus Driver. The training generally last approx. 4 weeks and will take place at our Telford depot, before you then work with a mentor for a further few weeks.

Hours of Work:

5 out of 6 days (Monday to Saturday) – no Sundays!

Our rotas are constructed with our driving team in mind. These are split into main types of work (local, interurban and Park & Ride), though there can be a mix of each type.

Full and part-time options are available, and the full-time rotas consist of mixed 4 and 5-day weeks, with 1 in 4 weekends off – with every other of these consisting of 5 days (perfect for getting away).

A mix of early finishes, later starts, short days and long days exist, and every effort is made to finish for a weekend on an early and start back on a later start to maximise rest periods.

We cannot offer fixed early, afternoon or evenings separately.

Overtime available at request / availability.

Requirements:

Must be over 18 years of age

Have been driving for a minimum of 6 months

No more than 6 points on your licence

Can pass a drug and alcohol test

Great people and customer service skills

Flexibility to work shifts

Free to use staff bus operates a route around Leicester in the mornings and evenings to get drivers to and from work at those early start times and late finishes

Shuttle service from the depot to town to get you to your starting point.
