The London Academy for Applied Technology (LAAT) is a dynamic, rapidly growing higher education institution delivering undergraduate programmes in business in partnership with Plymouth Marjon University. This role provides social media management and first‑line IT support, with exposure to basic web development tasks, to support smooth digital communication and IT operations.
Key Responsibilities- Social Media Management – Manage and maintain the institution’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other digital platforms; create schedules, publish posts aligned with academic, HR and marketing activities; respond professionally to online enquiries, messages and comments; increase engagement through consistent posting, content planning and basic boosting campaigns; coordinate with internal teams to ensure all announcements, events, achievements and updates are shared promptly; track performance through analytics and prepare monthly reports.
- IT Support – Provide first‑line support to staff and faculty across both campuses; assist with account set‑up, password resets, device troubleshooting and software installations; support Microsoft 365 services (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive); maintain IT asset records and assist with new equipment set‑up; support digital communication such as notifications, announcements and internal updates.
- Web Support (Basic Web Development Exposure) – Update website content (text, images, notices, programme information) using WordPress or CMS; assist in minor layout adjustments using HTML/CSS when needed; coordinate with external web developers for larger updates or issues; ensure webpages for admissions, HR, events and academic updates remain current.
- Coordination & Communication – Work closely with Admissions, HR, Academics and Operations to gather updates for posting; ensure digital communication is timely, consistent and aligned with branding; assist in marketing activities including student recruitment campaigns, event promotion and visual content preparation.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Marketing, Media or a related field.
- Experience handling social media platforms professionally.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Exposure to web development (WordPress, HTML, CSS) – not at an advanced level.
- Problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn.
- Basic design experience using Canva, Photoshop or similar tools.
- Knowledge of social media boosting analytics or digital marketing fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Power Automate or workflow automation tools.
- Exposure to SEO concepts.
