Our client is a highly reputable and growing main contractor delivering a strong pipeline of commercial and education projects across Kent and the surrounding areas. The Role

Reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager, you will manage your own projects while receiving support from an experienced commercial team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking commercial responsibility for your own education and commercial projects
  • Managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets and project forecasts
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and placing orders
  • Preparing and submitting valuations and payment notices
  • Assessing subcontractor applications and variations
  • Monitoring project costs and commercial performance
  • Attending site and client meetings
  • Working closely with the operational team to ensure projects are delivered profitably
  • Preparing and agreeing final accounts

The Successful Quantity Surveyor

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • Experience working for a main contractor or specialist contractor
  • Experience across commercial, education, refurbishment or similar projects
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant commercial experience
  • The confidence to manage your own projects
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A driven and ambitious approach to your career
