We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a technically strong engineering team, responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across complex projects. This role will suit someone with strong technical capability who can take ownership of projects through the design lifecycle, from concept and developed design through to construction information and technical delivery.

You will be responsible for producing and reviewing mechanical designs, developing technical solutions, coordinating with internal teams, consultants and clients, and ensuring designs are practical, compliant and buildable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical engineering input across projects from RIBA Stage 2 through Stage 5
  • Develop detailed mechanical design solutions, specifications and technical documentation
  • Produce and review drawings, schematics, calculations and technical submissions
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors and other disciplines
  • Review design information, identify clashes and provide technical solutions
  • Support the production of tender and construction packages
  • Provide technical guidance through the construction phase
  • Attend design meetings, client meetings and technical reviews
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and project requirements
Experience Required
  • Strong background in mechanical building services design
  • Experience delivering projects through RIBA Stage 4/5
  • Comfortable reviewing technical drawings and design information
  • Good understanding of construction, installation and buildability
  • Experience across commercial, workplace, critical environments or complex developments preferred
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership
