Quantity Surveyor £50k-£70k plus package Central London

Our client is a £150m turnover business in the built environment that has promoted their Senior QS. They're not replacing that role; they're adding to it. This means you'd be stepping into a team where the structure already works, the client relationships are solid, and there's genuine headroom above you. You'd run your own fit-out projects from day one, but you wouldn't be drowning in firefighting.

WHY THIS MATTERS MORE THAN THE SALARY

Most QS jobs ask you to inherit someone else's mess. Here, the opposite is true. The team of four (one senior, two assistants, and you) is built on a five-year project pipeline that's already locked in. That's not 'potential growth.' That's certainty. You can actually plan your caseload instead of scrambling, which means you'll have time to mentor, bid strategically, and take on the kind of work that builds your profile instead of just clocking hours.

The business has the feel of something bigger—professional, reputable, established—but without the corporate numbness. People know each other here. You'll work alongside senior colleagues who've been there long enough to have credibility but short enough to still want to solve problems. You'll develop faster and gain the kind of reference that matters. In five years, you're not just more experienced; you're known for something.

THE REAL REQUIREMENT

You need fit-out experience, and you need to be genuinely ready to run your own projects. This isn't a training role. You'll have support, but you'll own the delivery. If that's not you yet, that's okay, but it needs to be soon.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Our client operates across the commercial built environment. They're the kind of practice where repeat clients call them first because they deliver and they're straightforward to work with. That reputation takes time to build. It's what makes this opening exist at all.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Five years' minimum fit-out QS experience. Ability to run projects independently. That's it.

HOW TO MOVE

Message Sam Taylor on (phone number removed) or reply here with your CV and a note on why fit-out specifically suits you. No recruitment theatre. If it feels like a fit, we'll set up a call. If it doesn't, we'll tell you straight.
