Roofing Estimator – Flat Roofing Specialist Hertfordshire / North London £60,000 – £85,000 + Car Allowance (Depending on Experience)  Currently involved in Estimating for a specialist roofing business and looking for that natural next step?  We’re working exclusively with one of the UK’s fastest-growing refurbishment and new build contractors, delivering high-quality projects across the social housing and education sectors. As part of their ongoing growth and continued investment in specialist delivery, they are now seeking an experienced Roofing Estimator to join the commercial team within their Main Contracting division, based out of the head office. This is not a role with a subcontractor or external roofing specialist — it’s a key internal appointment within the main contractor itself, focused solely on pricing roofing works that form part of larger refurbishment projects. Crucially, all roofing packages are guaranteed workload, coming from long-term, secured frameworks and repeat client programmes — meaning there’s no need to chase new work or rely on external tenders. Join a fast-growing, forward-thinking contractor with a national reputation for quality Work as part of a collaborative commercial team, closely aligned with operational delivery Roofing is a major part of the company’s service offering — with strong systems, resources and supply chain already in place Be part of a stable, long-term pipeline of works with guaranteed frameworks and live projects Operate with full commercial oversight, reporting directly into the senior leadership team Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for flat roofing works on refurbishment projects Price both traditional tenders and schedule of rates (SOR) frameworks (training provided if needed) Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing Analyse drawings, specs and project scopes to identify accurate materials and labour requirements Attend internal bid reviews and support tender submissions from a roofing perspective Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure smooth project handover and financial control Requirements: Proven estimating experience within roofing, refurbishment or specialist sub-contracting Strong technical knowledge of flat roofing systems (felt, liquid, Langley, Bauder, etc.) Confident working with both traditional and SOR-style pricing Excellent commercial awareness, IT literacy, and attention to detail Strong communicator with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset This is a standout opportunity to join a contractor that’s winning, growing, and building something genuinely impressive — with real job security, structure, and long-term career potential.
