Job Title: Estimator - Joinery / Carpentry Location: London / South East Salary: Competitive + Package (dependent on experience) Sector: Specialist Carpentry & Joinery Contractor   Company Overview A well-established and highly regarded specialist contractor delivering high-quality carpentry and joinery packages across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East. The business has built a strong reputation for quality delivery, long-term client relationships, and repeat business, working with leading main contractors and developers on a wide range of projects. With a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced Estimator.   Role Overview This is a key hire within a growing pre-construction function, responsible for pricing a range of carpentry and joinery packages from tender stage through to contract award. You will be joining an established estimating team and will play an important role in ensuring competitive, accurate, and commercially sound submissions across multiple projects.   Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for carpentry and joinery packages Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation Take-offs and pricing across first fix, second fix, and bespoke joinery elements Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions Attend tender meetings and support client negotiations where required Work closely with commercial and operational teams during handover Manage multiple tenders simultaneously within tight deadlines Requirements Proven experience as an Estimator within carpentry / joinery / interiors packages Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and sequencing Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Experience pricing projects across residential and/or commercial sectors Commercially aware with strong attention to detail Confident communicator, able to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders Proficient in estimating software and Excel Desirable Experience working for a specialist subcontractor Knowledge of both traditional and modern methods of construction Exposure to large-scale commericial or mixed-use schemes Team & Environment Established estimating team with a collaborative working approach Strong pipeline of projects providing long-term stability Supportive management team with a focus on quality and delivery Opportunity to play a key role in a busy and growing department Package & Benefits Competitive salary (aligned to market experience) Travel paid  Bonus scheme  Pension Healthcare  25 day Holiday allowance + bank holidays Long-term career development opportunities Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established carpentry contractor with a strong reputation and consistent workflow, where you can take ownership of tenders and contribute to the continued growth of the business.   If you're an experienced Estimator with a background in carpentry or joinery and looking to join a busy, well-established contractor with a strong pipeline of work, get in touch for a confidential discussion
