Main Contractor – New Build & Refurbishment

Salary: £100,000 – £145,000 + package

The company: A growing main contractor with a diverse portfolio of new build and refurbishment projects is seeking a Construction Director to oversee delivery across multiple regions. The business operates across residential, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors, delivering projects typically between £5m and £40m. With a strong order book and ambitious but controlled growth plans, this appointment is key to maintaining standards while expanding delivery capability. The Construction Director will sit at board level and play a key role in shaping operational strategy, supporting bids, and ensuring construction excellence across the business.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for construction delivery across the business
• Leadership of senior project teams and regional management
• Ensuring H&S, quality, and programme standards are consistently achieved
• Input into bid strategy and construction methodology
• Resource planning and succession within the delivery teams
• Supporting client relationships at senior level

Ideal background / Qualifications

• Senior construction leadership experience within main contracting
• Strong technical understanding of new build and refurbishment projects
• Proven experience managing multiple complex schemes
• Confident communicator with strong leadership presence
