An opportunity to shape how a construction business delivers. Londinium Recruitment is recruiting a Construction Director for a London main contractor with a turnover of circa £20m and a multidisciplinary offering across commercial, residential, new build, refurbishment and fit-out. This is a senior operational leadership role for someone who can set direction while staying close enough to projects to challenge performance and support their teams. You’ll take responsibility for construction delivery across the business, working with fellow directors to align project commitments with the people, resources and processes needed to deliver them.

The role:

  • Lead operational delivery across the project portfolio.
  • Set clear expectations for programme, quality, safety and project performance.
  • Manage and develop Contracts Managers, Project Managers and site leadership.
  • Review project risks and intervene where delivery needs additional support.
  • Work with commercial and pre-construction colleagues on buildability, resourcing and delivery strategy.
  • Maintain senior client relationships and support the resolution of complex issues.
  • Strengthen reporting, accountability and consistency across projects.
  • Contribute to business planning and decisions on future workload.

About you:

You could be an established Construction Director or Operations Director, or a senior Contracts Manager already overseeing a substantial portfolio and team. You’ll bring a strong main contracting background, sound commercial judgement and the ability to lead through others. Experience within an SME contractor would be valuable, alongside an understanding of the different demands of new build, refurbishment and fit-out delivery.

Why consider it?

A role with influence across the whole construction operation, combining senior leadership with practical involvement in a circa £20m business. For a confidential conversation, contact Sam Taylor at Londinium Recruitment. Initial discussions are welcome before submitting a CV.
