A warm, welcoming and flexible (family-run) Groundworks & Demolition Contractor providing high-quality work at competitive prices, delivered on time. Established and successful groundworks company undertaking a wide variety of projects from £10k – £5m. With a steady flow of work, an impressive roster of long-term repeat clients, and a diverse range of projects, our client provides an appealing opportunity for a qualified and motivated candidate. Services: Substructure/foundation works Concrete oversites and slabs Reinforced concrete works Basement works External works including hard standing and tarmacadam Demolition Site strip and clearance Excavations Drainage and services Highways approved street works Underpinning Previous suitable commercial experience: Was involved with various tasks from initial preparing tenders, Undertake quantity take-offs, both manually and digitally, Produce Bills of Quantities to the appropriate Method of Measurement in spreadsheet estimating Software format for Estimators. Full support will be provided and all work going out is checked by senior management. Key Requirements – Assistant Estimator: 2 years experience minimum (Ideal) Hands-on site exposure (Ideal) Background in Groundworks, Demolition, Civils, Piling, Drainage, Utilities, or Landscaping sectors (Ideal). Full UK driving license & live local to Hertfordshire office. Office based (Monday – Friday) at Hitchin office. Visits to live/new sites twice a week for a morning or afternoon expected. Good understand of spreadsheets and Excel. Use of / exposure to Bluebeam + Cube earthwork system advantageous. \’Reliable\’ and \’accountable\’ character with ambition to gain more exposure as a Surveyor.
