The Company: An established and growing commercial refurbishment contractor delivering circa £16m annual turnover, with a strong and secure project pipeline across education, heritage/church refurbishments, hospitality (aparthotel/Airbnb), and wider commercial sectors. Approximately 40% of turnover is education-led, with a busy summer delivery programme, alongside a diverse portfolio of refurbishment projects across the South East and South Coast.
Due to continued growth and internal restructuring at leadership level, the business is now looking to appoint its first dedicated Health & Safety Manager.
The Opportunity: This is a newly created role offering real autonomy and influence. Currently, H&S responsibilities are shared internally and supported by an external consultant. The business now wants to bring this function in-house and appoint someone who can:
- Take ownership of health & safety across the business
- Implement, refine and streamline systems
- Support operational teams across office and site
- Drive standards as the company continues to grow
The role is expected to be 2-3 days per week initially, though full-time will be considered depending on experience and salary expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement company-wide H&S strategy and procedures
- Review and improve existing policies, RAMS, and compliance systems
- Conduct site inspections and audits across projects
- Work closely with site managers and project teams to ensure compliance
- Liaise with external consultants where required
