A growing specialist carpentry and joinery contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Joinery Design Manager to join its expanding team. The company delivers high-quality bespoke joinery and carpentry packages across a range of construction projects, working closely with contractors and project teams to design and deliver practical joinery solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a joinery-focused design professional who enjoys being involved in the technical side of projects while working closely with delivery teams to bring designs to life. You will play a key role in supporting project delivery by developing and managing joinery design solutions, ensuring designs are technically sound, buildable and aligned with project requirements.
Working closely with project managers and site teams, you will help unlock design challenges and provide practical solutions across a range of projects:
- Producing joinery design drawings and technical details
- Using CAD software to develop and coordinate joinery designs
- Supporting project managers with design coordination
- Developing practical and buildable joinery solutions
- Reviewing drawings and resolving technical design issues
- Liaising with site teams, suppliers and subcontractors
- Supporting the design process from concept through to installation
Strong joinery design or CAD draughting experience is required, along with a background within joinery, carpentry or specialist subcontracting. A strong technical understanding of joinery design and construction, as well as the ability to produce accurate CAD drawings, is essential. Candidates from smaller joinery businesses or specialist subcontractors will also be considered, provided they have strong hands-on joinery design experience.
