Do you like turning a spreadsheet of numbers into a story senior leaders can actually act on? We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to support our regions across Scotland & Yorkshire, based out of Troy Mills, on an initial six month fixed term contract with scope to extend or move permanent. The role pays up to £65,000 pro rata, reports to our Head of Regional Finance.
Lomond Group is one of the UK's largest and fastest growing property services groups, and growth through acquisition means our finance function is always absorbing new entities and new complexity. This role sits at the centre of that: you'll own the accuracy, timeliness & integrity of financial information across your supported regions, and make sure senior management see the trends and variances that matter, on time, every time.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver month end management information, covering P&L, balance sheet & cash flow, to the agreed reporting timetable for your regions
- Produce narrative packs for senior management that explain key trends & variances, raising challenge where the figures need it
- Review & report operational KPIs accurately and consistently, in the format the business needs
- Maintain the integrity of financial records, including nominal postings, fully evidenced balance sheet reconciliations & monthly budget variance analysis
- Keep data consistent across all systems in use, including data held outside the core ledgers such as a data warehouse
- Manage trade debtor & aged creditor control accounts, working closely with local Sales & Lettings Directors and the Accounts Payable team
- Manage, review & submit quarterly VAT returns for your entities in line with statutory deadlines
- Support post-acquisition financial integration, from reviewing handed-over balance sheets to updating consolidation budget templates
- Support internal & external audits with reconciliations and monthly schedules as requested
- Contribute to ad hoc project work, whether Group wide or regional
We're not just looking for someone who fits our team; we want to be a good fit for you too!
We’re looking for individuals with qualities such as:
- Experience managing the month end close process across P&L, balance sheet & cash flow, with a track record of hitting reporting deadlines
- Ability to produce clear, evidence-based narrative commentary on financial performance for senior stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation & nominal ledger control processes
- Experience managing control accounts such as trade debtors or aged creditors, working alongside operational colleagues
- Working knowledge of VAT return preparation & submission
- Comfortable working across finance & non-finance functions within a group structure to deliver a joined-up outcome
- A track record of keeping your professional finance knowledge current & sharing best practice with colleagues
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with a minimum of 3 years' experience
Here’s what you can look forward to
- 28 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
- A pension scheme to help you build towards retirement
- Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme
- Enhanced Family Friendly Leave covering maternity, paternity, adoption & IVF
- Free, confidential counselling through our Employee Assistance Programme
- Spread the cost of the latest gadgets & appliances with our Smart Tech Scheme
- Cut your commute's carbon footprint with our Cycle2Work Scheme
- Recognition for length of service, marked with special days & celebrations
- Funded professional qualifications to back your development & career growth
- Regular company socials, because we work hard & socialise even harder
- Access discounts at over 900 retailers through our smart spending app, plus a wellbeing centre with resources to help you stay active, eat well, build financial confidence & look after your mental health
If this sounds like you, the process starts with a screening call with our Talent Acquisition team, followed by a call with our Head of Finance, and we're keen to move quickly given the September start we have in mind.
Applications close on 14th September, though we may close sooner if we receive a high volume of interest, so don't wait to apply. If you need any adjustments to the recruitment or interview process, contact Lisa Nostro at recruitment@lomond.co.uk.
Lomond Group is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can do their best work.
