At Lomond Group, we're looking for a Head of Cost Accounting to join our Finance team in London, working on a hybrid basis and reporting directly to the Group Finance Director.

As one of the UK's largest property services groups, growth brings complexity, and this role plays a key part in bringing clarity, control and consistency to how costs are understood, managed and reported. You'll lead the development of cost accounting capability, helping the business make informed decisions through accurate financial insight, effective controls and high-quality reporting.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and develop the Group's cost accounting function, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place
  • Deliver accurate and timely cost reporting that supports strategic and operational decision-making
  • Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to improve visibility and understanding of cost performance
  • Drive consistency in cost allocation methodologies and accounting practices across the Group
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance within the cost accounting framework
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting quality and process effectiveness
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities with meaningful cost analysis
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to the cost accounting team
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects
  • Produce insights that help senior leaders understand cost drivers and business performance

  • Significant experience in cost accounting within a complex or multi-site organisation
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insight
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders
  • A proactive approach to improving processes, controls and reporting standards
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
