An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Group Tax Manager based in London, near Liverpool Street. The salary package on offer is £80,000 – £90,000 dependent on experience.

The role: Lead UK corporate tax compliance, including CT600 filings, VAT returns, statutory obligations and liaising with external advisors where needed to support complex technical matters and ad hoc advisory. Prepare and review tax computations, group relief claims, disclosures under UK GAAP, and manage current/deferred tax accounting. Comfortable managing corporation tax payments, including QIPs and group payment arrangements. Oversee Transfer Pricing, Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR), and Thin Capitalisation compliance, ensuring arm’s length principles and accurate documentation. Manage R&D relief claims and identify tax-saving opportunities such as capital allowances and incentives. Advise on complex VAT matters, maintain VAT grouping, and oversee property tax compliance (SDLT, CIS, Capital Allowances, Option to Tax). Support M&A tax workstreams, due diligence, and integration of acquired entities into compliance frameworks. Maintain tax governance, including SAO certification, CCO obligations, tax risk registers, and HMRC relationship management. Support the preparation of tax-related material for Audit Committee reporting, ensuring clear, accurate and timely updates. Provide tax updates and risk assessments to private equity investors as required. Drive process improvements, explore tax technology solutions, and build tax awareness across finance and operational teams.
What we are looking for: Qualified Tax Accountant (CTA, ACA, ACCA) with experience in large, complex, listed or PE-backed organisations. Expert knowledge of UK tax laws, including corporation tax, VAT, and employment taxes. Proven experience operating as a standalone Tax Manager in a complex environment. Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation and identify risks/opportunities. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Excellent communication skills to provide clear, commercially focused tax advice and liaise effectively with HMRC and internal teams. Ability to simplify technical tax concepts for non-specialists and build consensus across the business.
