Lombard Shipping are currently recruiting for two Transport Operators to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role:
As a Transport Operator, your primary responsibility will be to organise the distribution of goods, ensuring deliveries are completed efficiently, effectively, and within time and cost constraints. You will play a key role in planning transport, distribution and warehouse operations, monitoring the flow of goods, and ensuring all customer requirements are met accurately and on time. This is a full-time, office-based position working Monday to Friday, on a shift rota (06:00 15:30 and then 10:00-19:30).
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and route transport operations including container shunting, full loads and multi-drop deliveries, ensuring efficient fleet utilisation and cost-effective subcontracting
- Coordinate drivers, vehicles, and contractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of transport activities
- Liaise with customers to meet requirements, provide updates, and resolve any issues or delays promptly
- Monitor daily operations, including vehicle defects
