Field Service Engineer (Cambridgeshire Area) at Loma Systems
Job Description
As a Field Service Engineer within the National Service Team, you will provide high-quality field-based technical expertise at customer sites across the country. Your responsibilities include installation, calibration, fault finding, training, and repairing customer equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, on-site commissioning, servicing, and calibration of customer\’s inline inspection equipment according to company procedures, including on-site customer training when required.
- Execute upgrades and refurbishments at customer sites.
- Handle customer queries professionally and courteously on-site.
- Adapt to various environments and adhere to local health and safety regulations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and promptly as per company procedures.
- Work overtime and participate in on-call standby rota as required.
- Continuously improve product knowledge through learning diverse products.
- Provide technical support via phone and email as needed.
Requirements
Essential:
- Good technical electrical/electronics skills.
- Minimum BTEC/ONC/HNC or similar qualification in electromechanical/electrical engineering.
- Experience in a field service role, familiar with commissioning, repairs, and servicing.
- PLC programming knowledge and familiarity with PC hardware are advantages.
- Good PC literacy and organizational skills.
- Methodical problem-solving approach.
- Full current driving license.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and stay overnight occasionally.
