As a Field Service Engineer within the National Service Team, you will be responsible for providing high‑quality field‑based technical expertise at customer sites across the country, including installation, calibration, fault‑finding, training and fixing of customer equipment.
Tasks
- Carry out repairs, on‑site commissioning, service and calibration of customers’ inline inspection equipment following stated processes and procedures, including on‑site training where required.
- Conduct upgrades and refurbishments at customer sites.
- Handle on‑site customer queries in a fair and courteous manner.
- Adapt to all types of environments and comply with local client health and safety regulations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures.
- Work overtime as and when required.
- Participate in the on‑call standby rota system as required.
- Learn a diverse set of products and continually improve product knowledge.
- Provide technical support via phone and email where required.
Essential Qualifications
- Good technical electrical/electronics skills.
- Minimum BTEC/ONC/HNC or similar qualification in electromechanical/electrical engineering.
- Experience in a field service role and familiarity with all aspects of customer service, including commissioning, repairs and servicing.
- PLC programming and knowledge of PC hardware an advantage.
- Good PC literacy.
- Strong organisational skills orientated around reliably delivering what is promised.
- Methodical problem‑solving approach.
- Full current driving licence.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and stay overnight occasionally.
