We are looking for a Systems and Datacenter Operator to join our team for a multinational leader in the insurance sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Systems monitoring and management.
- Observing monitoring consoles and event-driven alerts.
- Coordinating with vendors for technical support.
- Calling on expert on-call staff to resolve incidents.
- Taking first-line corrective action on administrative systems.
- Running and monitoring traditional batch schedules using tools such as Control-M or Visualcron.
- Executing weekend release scripts for production deployments.
- Physical management of bulk printing.
- Supporting datacentre operations (e.g. power-down weekends, system availability testing, patrols).
- Maintaining security procedures and access logs.
- Updating operations procedures and generating reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Analysing and resolving production problems and incidents.
- Essential: Proven background in IT operations.
- Ability to work independently and within small teams.
- Self-motivated and solution-oriented mindset.
- Focus on service quality and operational excellence.
- Experience with job scheduling tools (Control-M, Visualcron).
- Good understanding of Linux/UNIX commands and basic Oracle database knowledge.
- Understanding of ITIL fundamentals.
- Strong English level (B2 or above).
- Desirable: Experience in batch processing and job scheduling.
- Knowledge of JCL and Korn shell scripting.
- Experience with Microfocus environments.
