A Warehouse Security Guard is responsible for protecting the establishment and ensures all civilians are safe at all times. The incumbent will be the first‑line representative to all staff, customers, and clients.
Duties:- Responsible for the protection of property by maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, drivers and visitors.
- Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity.
- Respond to all issues and/or incidents as they occur.
- Ensure response procedures and notifications are in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with the evacuation or movement of employees, drivers and visitors in emergency situations.
- Maintain and develop a customer service oriented relationship with staff, drivers, contractors, labor, and members of the public.
- Work various day and night shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Perform detailed and diligent patrols.
- Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed.
- Draft reports.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented.
- Ability to exercise vigilance and multitask is required (Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment).
- Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute in a timely manner.
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
- Must hold and maintain valid applicable Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Certification.
- Reliable commute as the site is not accessible by Transit.
- Minimum of 6 months of security experience.
- Warehouse/Industrial Security experience would be an asset.
