We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing freight forwarding business in Southampton to recruit two new team members due to internal progression and retirement. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable company offering long-term career growth within a supportive team environment.

The Roles

  • Inside Sales (Freight)
  • Inside Sales + Import Operations (Dual Role) (for candidates who enjoy a mix of sales & ops)

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and sending accurate, competitive freight quotations
  • Following up quotes to secure bookings and maximise conversions
  • Building strong relationships with customers through excellent service
  • Supporting team data, market insights, and pricing feedback

For the dual role (additional duties):

  • Managing import bookings from quote win through to completion
  • Liaising with origin offices and updating customers on shipment progress
  • Checking and amending draft Bills of Lading
  • Ensuring accuracy across bookings, documentation, and invoicing

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–2+ years’ experience in freight forwarding/shipping
  • Confident, friendly, and customer-focused approach
  • Strong communication skills (phone & email)
  • Detail-oriented with good organisational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Basic IT and numeracy skills

Salary & Benefits

  • £27,000 – £30,000 (Inside Sales)
  • £28,000 – £32,000 (Dual role, DOE)
  • Bonus scheme (bi-annual, after 1 year)
  • 20 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Additional attendance-based holiday incentive

Working Hours

Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (1-hour lunch + breaks)
