Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company, is currently looking to recruit an experienced Multimodal Freight Forwarder to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight professional with strong Sea Freight and European Road Freight experience who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish and delivering high levels of customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling multimodal freight operations, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing multimodal freight shipments with a focus on Sea Freight and European Road Freight
  • Handling shipments from start to finish
  • Coordinating imports and exports efficiently and accurately
  • Liaising with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, and overseas agents
  • Completing and monitoring customs processes and documentation
  • Managing operational issues and providing effective solutions
  • Ensuring all shipments meet customer requirements and deadlines
  • Maintaining accurate records and operational files

Requirements

  • Previous experience within freight forwarding operations
  • Strong knowledge of Sea Freight and European Road Freight operations
  • Working knowledge of CDS import/export procedures
  • Dangerous Goods experience preferred but not essential
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments within a fast-paced environment
