Our client is a privately owned company offering shipping services of the highest quality to freight forwarders, exporters and importers both in the United Kingdom and overseas. Established in 1989, the company can now boast over 30 years of trading experience and have built a reputation for high quality and competitively rated container groupage services. Main services are: * Weekly Export Container Groupage Services * Regional Cargo Receiving Facilities * Import Groupage and Full Container Load services * Customs Clearance * UK Distribution * Global Logistics The company owes its success to a stable and experienced management team providing personalised and tailor-made inter or multi-modal services. They are now looking to expand their Import Operations team, recruiting for an experienced LCL Import Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling groupage containers from all around the world. Main tasks are as follows; * Working with overseas offices to ensure shipments are co-ordinated correctly * Arranging for containers to be unstuffed on arrival to the UK, working with warehouse suppliers across all regions * Speaking to customers which range from forwarders to personal individuals to co-ordinate their arrival of the cargo and making sure that all procedures are in place to get their shipments released / delivered to them at the earliest chance. * Customs. Taking care of necessary customs arrangements to clear cargo with customs teams and ensure any local fees are collected * Transport. Arranging deliveries all over the UK and Ireland * Strong customer service focus is a must, with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely across all elements of the role. Salary is between 32-35K depending on experience
