Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will drive growth and expand market presence for a time-critical transport and logistics specialist, leveraging a strong client network and expertise across Air, Road, Sea, Special Transport, and Customs Services. This role requires a results-driven professional with a proven track record in multimodal freight solutions, capable of delivering tailored offerings for complex cargo requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve ambitious sales targets across air, road, sea, and special transport services.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, particularly in specialised sectors such as hazardous, military, project, and Ro-Ro cargo.
- Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, leveraging an established network to generate leads and close deals.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals tailored to client needs, including charter, OBC, NFO, general cargo, dedicated vehicles, part/co-loads, FCL/LCL, IMDG, and customs services.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the transport and logistics industry.
- Oversee contract negotiations, pricing agreements, and service-level agreements to ensure competitive advantage and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Stay current on regulatory changes, global trade policies, and industry best practices, especially for hazardous and special cargo.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility and market positioning.
