Our client, a well-established freight forwarding company, is looking to recruit an Import Operator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a few years’ experience within freight forwarding who is looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility over time. The successful candidate will primarily be handling full load sea freight imports from Greece and Turkey, managing key customer accounts and ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing import operations for full load sea freight shipments
  • Handling imports from Greece and Turkey
  • Looking after 2–3 large customer accounts
  • Receiving and processing pre-advices
  • Creating and managing shipment files
  • Booking deliveries with customers
  • Sending shipping instructions to carriers and shipping lines
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transport providers to ensure smooth operations

Requirements

  • Previous experience within freight forwarding or import operations
  • Understanding of sea freight import procedures
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and customer accounts
  • Experience completing customs entries would be advantageous
  • Experience using Sigma software would be beneficial
