Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop your finance career?

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract, providing key support across credit control, sales ledger activities, and wider finance projects during an exciting period of change and development.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy finance function, working alongside experienced colleagues and contributing to a variety of business-critical projects.

As a Finance Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our finance function, with a particular focus on credit control and debtor management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chasing outstanding debtor balances by telephone, email, and letter.
  • Issuing statements and reminder communications.
  • Processing and allocating customer payments.
  • Taking card payments over the telephone.
  • Sending copy invoices and supporting sales ledger administration.
  • Maintaining accurate debtor records and account information.
  • Liaising with colleagues across the business to resolve outstanding debt issues.
  • Supporting purchase ledger activities as required.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to support a range of wider finance initiatives, including:

  • Assisting with the wind-up of a group company during 2026.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Helping with financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal postings.
  • Assisting with year-end audit preparation and information requests.
  • Providing support across the wider finance team during peak periods and holiday cover.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and a confident telephone manner.
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A positive and collaborative approach to work.
  • Previous experience within a finance, accounts, credit control, or administration role.
  • An interest in developing a career within finance.
