Logistics People are looking for a Front Desk Clerk based at our Eddie Stobart Wakefield depot. Our customer is one of the biggest names within the HGV industry, with the latest vehicles on the market, which means you get the best HGV experience and a top-range vehicle to work with.

Location: Wakefield, WF2 0XE

Working Hours: 4 On 4 Off, 18:00 start time (10 hours with a half-hour unpaid break)

Main Responsibilities & Objectives:

  • Drive, support, and organize the front desk operation, meet and greet all drivers, collect information, and coordinate with the allocator to complete tasks promptly.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to ensure all operational factors regarding front desk operations are under control, with actions in place if needed.
  • Liaise with operational and senior management to ensure smooth operations and address concerns.
  • Participate actively as a team member and suggest solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Book all drivers onto Transporean.
  • Record driver details, references, registration, and trailer numbers on paperwork and booking logs before drivers proceed to designated bays or docks.
  • Complete goods in and out paperwork for the allocator with all necessary information.
  • Note reference numbers and preload sheets for collections.
  • Add all information to the booking log and communicate details to the allocator for bay assignment.
  • Relay information from the allocator to drivers, including bay/dock assignments and trailer numbers.
  • Ensure visitors sign in and wear mandatory PPE.
  • Assess drivers' PPE compliance; address and escalate non-compliance.
  • Lead the site's health and safety culture effectively.
