Due to continued expansion, Logistical Support Services LTD have immediate vacancies (subject to completion of security vetting) for additional flexible, adaptable and passionate Van Drivers to join our Bristol depot.
As an organisation that is focused on the Defence Industry, each day will be truly different and you will be transporting very specialist cargoes, including dangerous goods and other related goods on a UK and European level.
Experience with international driving would be beneficial, along with transporting high security/high value cargos.
Due to the nature of the work we undertake, a vast majority involves double manned driving.
Therefore we are seeking team players with a positive can do attitude who will interact and support others within the business.
Holding an ADR qualification would be advantageous albeit not essential as we would support and provide training for the right candidates.
Expected Hours of Work The hours work will vary from week to week in line with customer demands and requirements.
Monday to Friday (up to legal limits including rest periods).
Estimated weekly average over the course of the year will be between 50-55 hours.
Start and finish times will vary, including early starts and late finishes.
You should expect to undertake regular nights out (subsistence allowances apply).
Although last minute taskings can arise, we try and provide notice where practically possible.
The opportunity to undertake weekend work at additional rates of pay Saturdays; £25.77 p/h Sundays; £30.05 p/h Tax-free subsistence rates for nights away also apply.
Requirements A professional driver who holds a current C+E licence..
This must be held for at least 3 years with no more than 3 points nor any disqualifications.
ADR would desirable, although not essential as training can be provided.
Strong knowledge of the UK and EU road network.
Sound knowledge and understanding of drivers hours rules and road traffic regulations to always ensure compliance.
The ability to safely load and unload vehicles, as well as undertaking multi drop movements.
A team player to undertake double manned driving and support others.
A passionate individual who is presentable and courteous to customers to maintain and promote our prestigious reputation in the industry.
N OTE: Security vetting is a requirement for all roles at LSS and any offers of employment are made subject to obtaining and maintaining the necessary security clearance.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and will be required to provide proof of 5 years UK residency.
