Position Overview
Backed by an AI-powered recruiting platform, the role focuses on delivering secure, managed infrastructure solutions to clients across the UK.
Location: Hybrid – Bristol or Chippenham with occasional travel to client sites.
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience, plus car allowance, performance bonus (up to 10%) and an excellent benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure on‑premises network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation controls.
- Design and harden Microsoft Operating Systems (Server and Desktop), configure Active Directory and Group Policies to enforce robust security baselines.
- Configure endpoint security solutions including anti‑malware (Defender), DLP and removable device control.
- Deploy applications for on‑premises and cloud (Intune) solutions.
- Perform vulnerability assessments using Tenable, driving remediation and continuous improvement.
- Design, execute, and optimise technical platforms & services including Azure, Intune and MDM Administration, Azure IaaS/PaaS.
- Document secure networks and system architectures for both on‑premises and cloud environments.
- Provide technical input into security policies and compliance audits.
Core Duties
- Client‑side application deployment and migrations.
- Implement and enforce security baselines across Microsoft platforms.
- Manage authentication, access control, and endpoint protection solutions.
- Engage stakeholders and influence technical decisions through strong communication skills.
- Work within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven design and implementation experience with on‑premises infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows Server/Desktop, Active Directory, Group Policies, WSUS, Certification Authority).
- Hands‑on experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V), network security appliances and MFA solutions.
- Understanding of vulnerability management, endpoint protection and SIEM operations.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience working in an MSP environment.
- Familiarity with recognised security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, Cyber Essentials).
- Proven design and implementation experience with cloud infrastructure.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune).
- Experience deploying security configurations to Linux operating systems.
