Optical Engineer

Based in East London the Optical Engineer will be joining an exciting start-up focused on Semiconductor, AI and Optical Technologies and are revolutionising innovative technology. The Optical Design Engineer will be joining the expanding optical design team and the company are open to people who have just completed a PhD or with extensive free space optical design in a commercial experience.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited too: Build optical testbeds and implement automated measurement methodologies to identify system performance limits; Assess optical transmission and network performance for short-reach AI Networked Systems; Interface with other internal teams, PIC design, Integration, Systems and Networks and PLM.

The successful candidate will have a proven background in optical systems development, either from academia or industry. Post doc through to Principal Team Lead can be considered for this role. Other areas of interest include:

* Optoelectronics, DSP and RF Technologies

* Experience of the following would be beneficial: AI, Datacentre\’s, Photonics and Optoelectronics
