Hours: Monday to Friday - 08:30 – 15:30

As a School-Based Youth Worker, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, personal development, and engagement with education. You will work closely with students who may require additional support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

As a School-Based Youth Worker, you will:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils across the school
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Work alongside teaching staff to promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Assist with conflict resolution and restorative approaches when required
  • Support students during unstructured times such as breaktimes and lunchtimes
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure pupils receive appropriate support
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment

  • Resilient and confident in managing challenging situations positively and professionally
  • Strong communicators with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Hold GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential
