Hours: Rotating Shifts

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Glass Production Operative on behalf of our client based in the NR29 area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist manufacturing business producing high-quality glass products for a range of industries. The successful candidate will receive full training across various areas of the production process, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Glass Cutting – Transfer CAD data and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and accurately cut components from glass sheets.
  • Glass Grinding – Load CAD data, programme, and operate glass edge grinding machinery to achieve the required finish and specification.
  • Glass Toughening – Train and operate specialist in-house bending and toughening processes, including flat glass furnaces, press-bent toughening plants, and sagged-bending furnaces.
  • Glass Printing – Operate printing equipment to apply detailed designs and markings to glass prior to the toughening process.
  • Manufacture glass products to a consistently high quality standard.
  • Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure products meet customer specifications.
  • Safely handle, lift, and manoeuvre glass components throughout the production process, using mechanical lifting equipment where required.
  • Conduct quality checks and follow all company procedures and standards.
  • Support other production activities and undertake additional duties as required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing, production, engineering, or glass processing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Willingness to learn specialist machinery and production processes.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to detailed specifications.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physically capable of handling glass products safely.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work rotating shifts.
  • Strong team-working skills and a positive attitude.
