An award-winning, family-owned contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Merseyside. The business is a leading provider of social housing maintenance services, delivering responsive repairs, voids, planned maintenance and refurbishment works for housing association and local authority clients across the North West. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of key contracts.

The Role

Working closely with an experienced Commercial Manager who is known for supporting and developing junior team members, you will assist with the commercial management of social housing maintenance contracts across responsive repairs, voids and planned works. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing Quantity Surveying experience within a supportive environment that offers genuine career progression.

Responsibilities to include assisting with the following:

  • Assisting with the commercial management of multiple social housing contracts
  • Preparing valuations and applications for payment
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and accounts
  • Assisting with cost reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly CVRs
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
  • Building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' experience working in a Quantity Surveying role within construction, maintenance, refurbishment or housing sectors
  • Strong commercial awareness and numerical skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to develop professionally
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
