We are recruiting for a Civil Works Manager to join a busy construction operation in Manchester. The role will involve overseeing civil and groundworks packages from planning through to completion, managing site teams, plant and subcontractors while ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

The Role

  • Managing earthworks, FRC works and deep drainage
  • Managing site teams and subcontractors
  • Planning and coordinating labour, plant and materials
  • Overseeing plant management and utilisation
  • Managing programmes and ensuring works remain on schedule
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring works are completed to specification
  • Working closely with project management and commercial teams
  • Resolving issues on site and keeping projects moving

About You

  • Strong experience within civil engineering, groundworks or infrastructure
  • Previous experience managing earthworks, FRC and deep drainage works
  • Confident managing site teams, subcontractors and plant
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and site compliance
  • Experience managing programmes and delivering against deadlines
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced site environment
