Our client is a growing construction and refurbishment contractor delivering projects across the education, healthcare, commercial, residential, and public sectors. Acting as Principal Contractor, they deliver a diverse portfolio of refurbishment, fit-out, and construction projects typically ranging from £100k to £2m in value.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking to recruit a Lead Materials Buyer to take ownership of the buying function for their Contracts Division. This is a hands-on, office-based role offering the opportunity to make a real impact by leading procurement across the business, driving improvements to processes and best practice, and helping shape the future growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the buying function for the Contracts Division.
- Procure materials and plant for projects across the UK, ensuring best value, quality, and timely delivery.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favourable commercial terms.
- Develop and implement buying processes, procedures, and best practice across the business.
- Build strong working relationships with site teams, commercial staff, and the accounts department to improve communication and efficiency.
- Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement.
- Report directly to the Commercial Director and provide updates to the Main Board.
