Newford Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Home Manager to lead our 41-bed care facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a clinical leader to shape the future of a warm, community-focused boutique nursing home.

The Role

As the Home Manager, you will take full operational and clinical responsibility for the nursing home.

We are looking for a visible, "hands-on" leader who balances sharp financial management with strong, floor-based clinical guidance.

The successful candidate must be prepared to shift away from a traditional, formal, desk-bound office style and embrace a dynamic working day that prioritises active time on the floor to meet residents and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient weekly staff rotas to strictly maintain the established ratio of wages to turnover and minimise agency use.
  • Allocate care assistants to residents based on real-time dependency needs.
  • Spend time on the floor to shadow, teach, and upskill care assistants whilst at work.
  • Supervise and mentor our excellent, dedicated team of nurses.
  • Meet with residents and their families on a regular basis for their feedback , to implement changes.
  • Maintain strict regulatory compliance and drive quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) status with an active, unrestricted NMC Pin.
  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a nursing home.
  • A strong desire to be visible and dynamic, rather than desk-bound.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing staff budgets and wage-to-turnover ratios.
  • Deep understanding of care standards and clinical dependency profiling.
  • Competitive salary of £60,000 per year.
