If you like proper engineering projects, not just keeping the lights on, and being part of a company that's investing heavily in new machinery, this could be the role for you.

Why this role stands out:

  • A headline project straight away: you'll lead the install of a 40ft machine into the facility
  • Clear growth pipeline: once that's in, there are six more major machine installs planned
  • Heavy industrial engineering: this is not conveyors and belts, it's large machining plant and equipment
  • Real ownership with support: reporting into a Senior Engineer, you'll be trusted to get the job done
  • Great working pattern: Monday to Friday days with an early finish Friday

What you'll be doing:

This is an essential role in a growing machining business, with a major installation project front and centre. You'll start by supporting the installation and commissioning of a new 25 meter machine, helping to get it safely in place, running right, and fully handed over to production. Alongside the project work, you'll also support some reactive and preventative maintenance.

What you'll need:

  • Time-served mechanical engineer with solid hydraulics and pneumatics experience
  • Background in a heavy industrial/metal machining environment (the bigger the kit, the better)
  • MIG welding ability and strong mechanical fitting skills
  • FLT counterbalance licence (and confidence working around overhead cranes)
  • A practical, calm approach when plans change or breakdowns happen

What's on offer:

  • £40,000 basic salary
  • Monday to Friday day shifts (with an early finish on Friday)
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • 5% company pension contribution
  • Company profit scheme
  • Development and progression as the site expands and new equipment comes in

This role would suit someone from: Mechanical Maintenance, Mechanical Fitting, Multi Skilled Engineering (mechanical bias), Hydraulics/Pneumatics maintenance, or machinery installation/commissioning in an industrial setting.
