Full Stack Web Developer

Location: HQ – Harrogate / Hybrid

Salary: Circa Β£55k

Reporting to: CPTO (Chief Product & Technology Officer)

Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent

About the Role: Our client is looking for another Developer to join the growing team and take a pivotal role in the ongoing development of their platform. You will be working on projects to build a scalable web application, collaborating closely with the CPTO and wider team to shape the technical direction and deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features
  • Optimise relational database structures (PostgreSQL)
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance application performance
  • Work with customer success teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Contribute to a culture of testing and clean code through TDD and code reviews

Required Skills & Experience

  • Programming Languages: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript
  • Frontend Technologies: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript
  • Backend Technologies: Ruby on Rails
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Development Tools: Git, GitHub, AJAX, MVC Architecture

Desirable / Bonus Experience

  • Sidekiq, Heroku, Github workflows
  • Familiarity with Hotwire / Turbo / Stimulus
  • Exposure to scaling applications in production environments
