IT Helpdesk (1st Line Support) Officer - Contract, £165 per day, Inside IR35 Bath | Hybrid (2 days in the office)

We're recruiting on behalf of a global client, a world-renowned organisation, for an IT Helpdesk Officer to join their Global IT Helpdesk team based in Bath. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting over 3,000 users across a global business while developing your technical skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.

What you'll be doing?

  • Provide first-line technical support, ensuring colleagues receive a first-class IT service.
  • Take ownership of support tickets, troubleshoot technical issues and work closely with the wider IT team to keep business operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide remote 1st Line IT support to users across the business.
  • Log, prioritise and resolve helpdesk tickets within agreed SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365, software and hardware issues.
  • Support the day-to-day operation of the Global IT Helpdesk.
  • Escalate issues where appropriate while maintaining ownership.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively with users.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements within the IT Support function.

What we're looking for?

  • Previous IT Helpdesk, Service Desk or 1st Line Support experience (or relevant IT qualifications).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
  • An understanding of Windows environments and software troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for developing an IT career.

Desirable

  • Active Directory or Exchange Online.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • SharePoint and OneDrive.
  • Microsoft 365 Defender.
  • ERP or HR system exposure.
