Job Opportunity: Wheel Torque Operative
Location: Corby
Employment Type: Temporary
Working Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday 06:00am - 17:00pm (Shift open to discussion)
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Our client is a prominent leader in the field of automotive logistics and remarketing solutions. We have an opportunity to work with one of the largest UK online retailers. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wheel Torque Operative to join our client’s team. This person willensure all vehicles are wheel torque checked and prepared to the required safety and quality standards before release. The role involves carrying out wheel torque checks, vehicle inspections, and supporting the smooth operation of the yard while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out wheel torque checks on vehicles using calibrated torque equipment.
- Ensure all wheel nuts and bolts are tightened to the manufacturer’s specification.
- Accurately record completed checks and update relevant systems or paperwork.
- Identify and report defects, missing parts, or safety concerns.
- Move vehicles safely around the site when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.
- Comply with all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Support other yard activities as required by operational demands.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of vehicle safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous automotive, workshop, tyre fitting, vehicle preparation, or yard experience would be advantageous.
- Full UK/EU Driving Licence essential.
- Basic understanding of vehicle components and safety checks.
- Experience using hand tools and torque equipment is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
