Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail‑driven prepper / polisher to join the expanding automotive service team. The role ensures vehicles are finished to the highest standard across a variety of makes and models.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for paintwork, including sanding, masking, priming, and filler work
- Polish, buff, and finish surfaces to achieve a flawless final presentation
- Identify and repair small imperfections such as scratches, chips, and dents before painting
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer and customer standards of quality and safety
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace and adhere to health and safety regulations
- Work closely with paint technicians and bodyshop colleagues for smooth workflow
- Accurately use tools and materials in line with company and manufacturer guidelines
Qualification and Experience
- IMI or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in vehicle repair, refinishing, or bodyshop work
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in prepping, polishing or vehicle refinishing
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation and finishing techniques
- Full UK/EU driving licence required
