Role Overview: We are looking for local, flexible and highly motivated individuals to join our Winter Resilience Team at Glasgow Airport. Your main responsibility will be to keep the airport operational during severe winter weather by clearing snow and ice from aircraft stands, runways, and other critical areas. This role requires consistent availability from October to April, with short-notice call-outs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate snow ploughs and other machinery to clear snow from critical areas.
- Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Maintain and conduct routine checks on equipment.
- Work collaboratively to ensure smooth operations during emergencies.
- Be ready for emergency callouts during severe weather.

Requirements:
- Live within a 45-minute commute of Glasgow Airport.
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points).
- Be physically fit to operate heavy machinery in icy conditions.
- Be available to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, often at short notice.
- Have a Full & Valid UK Driving Licence with Categories C+E (Class 1).
- Must be eligible to obtain an airside pass, which requires a DBS check with no disqualifying convictions as defined by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
- Be willing to carry out a driver medical to obtain an Airside Driving Permit.
Preferred Experience:
- Operating de-icing and snow-clearing equipment or large machinery.
- Previous experience in airport operations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience operating HGV is a bonus but not a requirement.
