Location: Gatwick Airport

Employment Type: Permanent

Working Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday (with weekend availability if required)

Working Hours: 08.00am to 17.00pm (42.5 hour week) with weekend overtime available

Bodyshop Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Body Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our client’s body shop. You will lead a skilled team of technicians and administrative staff, ensuring the smooth running of the workshop while maintaining the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop, including scheduling, task allocation, and productivity monitoring
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the body shop team to achieve performance targets and quality standards
  • Oversee vehicle repair processes, ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and customer expectations
  • Maintain accurate reporting on workshop throughput, KPIs, and performance
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers, suppliers, and customers
  • Oversee stock, parts ordering, and supplier negotiations to optimise costs and availability
  • Drive continuous improvement, implementing new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery

Vehicle Spray Painter

We are looking for an experienced Body Shop Paint Sprayer to join our client’s professional and growing team. The successful candidate will carry out high-quality refinishing work across a wide range of vehicles, ensuring a flawless finish and customer satisfaction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare vehicles for spraying, including masking, sanding, and priming.
  • Mix and apply paints to match original manufacturer colours and finishes.
  • Carry out spray painting to a professional standard on panels, bodywork, and complete vehicles.
  • Ensure all refinishing work is completed efficiently and to high-quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain spray booths, equipment, and tools in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with preppers, polishers, and body repair technicians to meet deadlines.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure vehicles meet both manufacturer and customer standards.

Panel Beater

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Panel Beater to join our client’s professional body shop team. You will be responsible for repairing and replacing damaged vehicle panels to manufacturer standards, ensuring a high-quality finish and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess damage and determine the appropriate repair or replacement method.
  • Remove, repair, and replace damaged body panels.
  • Use welding, filling, and straightening techniques to restore vehicles to their original condition.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer standards and within agreed timescales.
  • Work collaboratively with paint sprayers, MET technicians, and preppers to complete jobs efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean working environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Bodyshop Manager I Spray Painter I Panel Beater within the automotive repair industry
  • Strong technical background with recognised qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, ATA or equivalent) desirable for Bodyshop Manager
  • IMI / NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Vehicle Refinishing I Vehicle Body Repair (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a multi-skilled team I Working with estimating systems I Skilled in welding, jig work, and panel alignment techniques
  • Experience with a wide range of vehicles
  • Full UK / EU driving licence required
