The role: We are currently seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our Electrical Design Team based in our offices in Newcastle city centre. Below, you will find a complete breakdown of everything required of potential candidates, as well as how to apply. Good luck.
Working on a variety of exciting and bespoke engineering projects for our Offshore Energy product market group. You will be responsible for:
- Electrical Design.
- Specification Writing.
- Specifying of parts.
- Costing of Projects.
- Technical Support to Customers.
- Inspection and Test / FAT writing.
- Working on Electrical Department Standardisation and Efficiency Initiatives.
- Undertake the electrical design of work packs or projects with minimal supervision.
- Delivery of complex engineering solutions to agreed time scales and budgets.
- Ability to estimate, forecast, plan and execute to agreed plans.
- Provide technical support and guidance for commissioning and installation activities.
- Active engagement in Teams across the business.
- Willing to challenge themselves and further their knowledge and experience as well as that of the business.
Job requirements:
- Degree or Diploma qualified.
- Recent experience of a similar role in a bespoke engineering environment.
- Experienced in designing:
- Power distribution systems at both 230V & 440VAC.
- Machine control and instrumentation systems.
- Control Panel design.
- Motor starter or VSD design.
- Experienced in Electrical CAD packages.
- Experienced in working to ISO9001 or equivalent in a project based organization.
- Eplan Electric P8 experience.
- Previous experience within the Marine / Offshore environment.
- Working knowledge of DNV GL & Lloyds rules.
- Experience of working with Subsea Vehicles including design of High Voltage systems.
- Knowledge & experience of relevant functional safety standards (IEC61508, IEC61511, IEC13849).
- Commissioning & Test experience (advantageous).
- Good communicator active and participating member of teams, department and project teams.
- A high level of competence with IT systems and tools.
- Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area.
